In 2016 Keegan and Sharlynn founded San Joaquin Forest Products with a simple dream: create something positive from the natural disaster of the bark beetle infestation. They spent their entire life savings on a skidsteer and a circular sawmill, and got started with high hopes of saving the forest. 

 

5th generation logger, Keegan, took his love of timber and set out to create the highest quality, rough cut lumber. His attention to detail of wood characteristics and expectation of perfection shows in every board he makes.

Then in 2020, the largest wildfire in California, The Creek Fire, changed their lives. Within weeks, the forest in which they built their home and business on was destroyed. The burned timber needed to be harvested right away to be utilized and there was a severe lack of infrastructure in the area to absorb all the raw product. They once again bootstrapped an expansion of their manufacturing capabilities to help their community recover from the disaster. Out of this time of devastation and loss, the Blue Heart Lumber line was born. These products are a simple, yet elegant, presentation of a nearly lost resource that holds generations of historic value to Forest Lovers everywhere.
